Star of the Sea
A light to guide us

I have this picture of the star of the sea;
With the waves crashing over thee.
Holding on to my child.
Over the rough waters;

A light by my side;
To be my guide.

I'm Katie Villapudua and I have been a member of St. Gerard Circle since 2012 and during this crazy year I took the responsibility to be president.  I love St. Gerard Circle and it has a very special place in my heart.  Over the years I have had some very busy positions like kids and family and last year something less crazy managing social media.   I've been to almost every Friday monthly meeting since 2012.  So, if you have been to one you probably have seen me.  We are in great need to keep this ministry alive this year and next.   I know not much is going on compared to years past because of covid-19 but if you can find it in your heart to volunteer in a leadership position in 2021-2022 SGC is in great need.  There is not much we can do for this year but to give SGC a great start for next would be the best thing we can do.  If you would like to volunteer and I promise it's not that much time please email me.

Now, more about me..........  I have 3 big kids now. 4, 6 and 9. They are the best kids. This image of Mary has many different meanings to me. If you asked me a couple of years ago it would have been my Daughter Stella Marie. Her name means star of the sea.

Now, when I look at this specific image, I see it as mother Mary being an example to me. Holding her precious child calmly with the rushing and crashing waves all around her. Yet there is this bright light of God guiding her way.

I know a lot of us have been dealing with a lot this year. Especially when it comes to education of our children. As we gaze our eyes up towards God and whatever we can’t control we put in his hands his protective light shines over us.

I want to thank my friend Kelly Wold who is also a member of SGC for giving this photo to me.

God Bless,
Katie Villapudua
